erratic idle,stalls,and jerks

I have a 1988 xlt bronc,it idles erratically sometimes,stalls sometimes and always gives a quick **** if I take my foot off of gas while driving.Engine was rebuilt in 2003,tranny rebuilt in 2005,recently sent to local shops,they adjusted idle up,replaced rear u joints and replaced obvious warn out throttle cable no one seems to have or want to find problem . HELP ( P.S. also replaced inline fuelpump and filter.

How about the egr valve? It could be the problem.

Thanx I did disconnect the egr valve.It does idle better now and doesnt stall I.I still dont know

what causes **** when I back off gas pedal is it something simple like emissions,vacum,linkage

or more serious like tranny (spent 2300.00 in2005@cottmans trans n chandler az.now live n mi.)

or engine?Any help would be appreceiated.
