Is there any easy kits to buy to swap a fuel injected 302 out to a 351 with a carb. I am going to try to elimanate all the trouble that I have been having with this truck buy doing an engine swap. I have had problems with just about all systems on the engine :angry: and I am tired of it. If anyone can give me a tip or two I would really appreciate it.

Not exactly what you're looking for but;

Where are you...? Is there a Bronco club near your base..?

The club here in Vegas "swaps-in" the 302 EFI's on a regular basis. These clubs know the ins-n-outs, & all the "pit-falls" b-(

Generally, it's the wiring harness... & could be easier & cheaper to fix than go the 351 route.

Another thing to check before you swap engines is the state laws on it. In some states if you switch from fuel injected to carburated it will not pass inspection, it also will not pass if you remove any of the emissions control systems that came on the vehicle.

thank you for the tips on the emissions but there are ways around that were the truck is registered in Louisiana it can be registered as a special purpose vehicle.

i just replaced my 302 in my 90 bronco with a 351w.we swapped the wiring harnesses on the two engines and it worked fine.one huge problem it didn't know about,everyone will tell you to use the 351 flywheel,this is true.however, in my swap i installed a 95 model moter.in 95,ford changed to a electronic shift tranny.the bell housing on this tranny is just enough longer that when i put the engine in,it pushed the torque converter into the pump..after a complete rebuild of the trans.it's running now.if you use an older than 95 engine,and switch the wiring harneses,yours should run well..curlygrooms

i swapped my 87 302efi over to a 351w, but i went propane. i'm using my original harness, but capped off whatever wasn't needed. some of my sensors don't work, but it runs fine. little by little as money becomes avalible, i'm putting on all the little stuff. i stripped all my emissions stuff out cause i don't have emission laws in alberta...lol. propane burnes cleaner anyway, and is alot cheaper. like 40 bucks to fill. that's down from $100+ for reg.... and it lasts about the same

I was just wondering what kind of mileage you get using propane?

i havn't kept track of milage. i usually relate in $$$$ but i only fill once a week. it is my dd. but so far it's about 40%-45% cheaper than my 87 302efi
