'74 w/ stock motorcraft 2bbl. On stock 302. Fast idle & slow idle are fine. Rebuilt carb recently and replaced fuel line filter. Accelerating from a stop is fine but as the speed reaches about 45mph or easing into the accelerator to account for an incline in the road causes the engine to stall unless I quickly back off which keeps the motor running. Any ideas as to cause?

Hi Scamp, welcome..!

A few things come to mind.

Debris floating around in the tank blocks the pick-up tube then releases when you drop to idle.

Other blockages in the fuel line -or- tank switch-over valve.

Sometimes debris gets stuck in the check valve(s) in the fuel pump, dropping pressure.

Float setting &/or the accelerator pump may be in play here.

It could even be electrical.., as in the module or the coil.

Or the pick-up coil inside the dizzy.
