I recently rebuilt my '96 351w in my bronco. bored out thirty over, crane camshaft, forged pistons, headers. I think my computer hates my camshaft because i have an emission code that will not clear and a low stumbling idle. I replaced everything on the emissions from the air pump to the solenoids when she was rebuilt, this code wont clear. The code is saying the solenoids are not working, but when they are pin tested they are fine. The idle is also around 500 rpms when in gear, stopped. i was wondering if i maybe had to upgrade my computer, thanks for any help!

Hello yes you messed up , When I did mine I looked all over and checked things out very well and the only cam that I could find that would work for sure without messing up the speed density fuel injection system was the comp cams 35-255-5 . It works very well and I was very happy with it this is for the non roller blocks . Only option you have now is to have the EEC reprogrammed but it will probably cost you more than changing the cam . Sorry :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

i recently had my 351w engine rebuilt in my 92 bronco, iwas going to upgrade the cam other than a ford stock cam and the rebuilder said he called someone at ford and they said you could do it only if you were going to change your computer otherwise the truck would run like crap

The cam I mentioned earlier was designed specifically by comp cams to run with the speed density fuel injection . It works very well . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Summit has a conversion kit to go to mass air which would probably fix the speed density conflict, very important to confirm your transmission type prior to ordering kit; different computer depending on tranny type....good luck / mass air also allows for other mods, headers, cold air intake, etc

That kit is only good for 5.0 not 5.8 I did lots of checking on that for my last project would have to be custom programmed for 5.8 :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
