Can you still turn the engine over by hand? Try it, roll it over a couple complete revolutions

the lil gear onn the stater would pop out to engage but not spin. so i took off the starter and took it to autozone for them to test it. it enhaged and spun. after i went back home and reinstalled on the truck the starter gear would engage but not spin or crank motor.

Well i fthey tested the starter at autozone and they put a load on it and it worked, then it has to be that the starter is not getting enough amperage from the battery.

Make sure all of the conenctions are clean and tight. Take a wire brush or piece of sandpaper to them if necessary.

Both battery terminals, and if they are after market... the cable to the conenctor/clamp that connects to teh battery. Also to the starter and both sides of the starter relay.

Also the ground wire to the engine block.

IF your battery is fully charged, that should do it.

IF your battery is more than three years old, it just may not have enough umph left in it.

One more thing... I don't know how often the starter relay doesn't pass enough current through it, but you may try jumping it.
