I have a 93 with a 351 and E4OD. It has 178K on it. just did a tune up, plugs, wires, cap and rotor. It ran fine for about a 1000 miles, and now, terrible misfire. I checked the wires and their snug, plugs look good, as do the cap and rotor. It idles fine and first gear is smooth up to about 1800 rpm, as soon as it hits second gear it shakes all the way through the power band, same thing with third and fourth gear. once it is cruising its fine but I'm stumped. I keep up on maintainence, fuel filter is recent, clean air cleaner. What is going on?

how are your plugs wires routed? are they crossing each other?

no, I thought that may be an issue, they are 8mm wires I tried moving them so that the wires for the cylinders wouldnt be next to each other. I
took better note today and as soon as it hits second gear it vibrates all the way through the power band, same with third and fourth if under load. I almost think its driveline vibration but I cant be certain.

could be a bent or unbalanced driveshaft or worn out u-joints. have you checked wheel bearings?

Yeah, I was beginning to think drive line related too. the driveshaft doesnt seem to have any play in it so... bearings, I do have almost180k on her so... could be.

yup U-joint, no more bad vibes, kind of relieved, beginning to think I would keep throwing money and parts at it and still nothing.
