Can anyone tell me the procedure for resetting the emmission light on an '86, 302 Manual.

I actually performed the reset about 13 years ago when the light turned on for the first time. But now I can not find the instructions anywhere.

I seem to remember that the light turns on after a certain number of starts (5000?). Resetting involved turning the key in a certain manner while holding down some button or switch.

I was surprised that I was unable to find any discussion on the reset.

Thanks!

yo Hook!

Codes automatically erase after 60-100 starts. Starting the memory test procedure, and unplugging the connections erases memory codes. Disconnecting the battery will also erase all the codes (Keep-Alive memory); however, this may trigger a code 19 (loss of PCM power).
