I have a '92 XLT 5 liter. In Fort Worth we recently had ice and in the 15 degree weather i swtiched it into 4 wheel drive only to hear a grinding noise. I guess my hubs locked up? I drove with the grinding for about 10 mins, no faster than 20 mph. I put it in reverse and drove backwards for about 30 feet, and this seemed to help. It seems like the hubs are still messing up tho, almost like there is something holding me back when I accelerate, but the grinding is gone. Did I ruin my hubs by driving with them caught? What will keep this from happening again? Am i supposed to slowly roll when i switch to 4wd? could the modulator be screwed up?

thanks ya'll
