electrical problems ???

ok it all started a couple of weeks ago i was teaching my kid to drive and the abs light came on so we got it back to the house and then the brake light cam on i shut it down. then attempted to restart it was completely dead no power any where i used my buddy's truck to jump mine i barley had the cables on a min it fired right up all power was fine. the other day the abs light/ brake light came on fer a min. today after i started my truck there was the abs/brake light on again and i had to power to my windows i shut it off and started it back up and my windows worked and the abs/brake light went off. i've had batt tested twice it's good put in a brand new alt. it's a 93 bronc with 351. is there any connection somewhere that usually goes bad or corrodes to cause this ??? thanks any advice will be welcomed kevin

I don't see a direct relationship between the problems, but a bad ground isn't out of the question, that can cause a lot of crazy problems. You could try removing and cleaning up the battery cable connections at the battery and engine block as well as the positive cable connections.

Another area you may want to check and is prone to corrosion is the through the fire wall connector, take it apart make sure the pins and sockets are not corroded and then reassemble it.

I agree w/Seabronc on this one

your pw and 4wabs sys is on diff fuses in Fuse Box and in diff ckt bkrs in Power Distribution Box.

Only thAng that the 4WABS sys self-test shows for something such as this is:

"ABS Warning Light On Intermittently
