Ok heres the skinny, I was towing a 16ft landscape trailer with no more then 500lbs loaded on the trailer. Ok I go 60miles drop off the soda machines I had loaded and while getting gas I notice Gear oil dripping from the over Flow tube, I take the fill plug out and oil Flows. Ok its was over filled and this is the first work out its got towing anything since we got back to Florida. Now after Driving the 60 miles back up the interstate with a empty trailer I get off the interstate, to go drop the Trailer back at the storge lot, come to a stop at a traffic light, hit the gas start moving then the trani will not shift out of first gear, then theres nothing like its slipping Now I'm 15miles from home and I have to drive it in 2nd which is working fine....needles to say that long drive going slow in City Traffic warmed up the Trani to 210deg which is not bad at all..

Now the Trani never got hot or even over 180deg untill I lost anthing over 1st gear while in Drive..... I'm lost and really don't need this right now I was just getting ready to restart my Lawn service up and this Crap happens. I haven't had a chance to look the the trani Fluid, I'm going to let it Cool off then take it for a Drive.. Any Idea Ladys and Gents??????

You may have a shift solenoid/sensor that went out. When that happens, the tranny defaults and you're stuck in first gear, 18-20 mph max. A competent tranny shop will pull a code for your E4OD, jsut don't let a shyster talk you into a rebuild if not necessary.

well trani shop says they can't find anything wrong with it.. Pulled codes and they can't find anything so they want to take it out and take it apart for 385.00 I don't have the cash for all that since I know they won't want to put it back in without a Major bill

Ok went and picked up the bronco I'm not going to let them take it out and start poking around. The owner of the shop gave me a list of codes they pulled from the computer and here they are with what they said they ment.

12: can't control RPM during Hi-RPM check (Ok I can deal with that)

18: No Tach input or Spout missing ( it came out or I lost it and I even posted about it here and made a new conection for it)

34: EGR closed valve signal to High (This make me mad I just replaced the EGR valve so I'm guessing the sensor is bad I will have to check that one out)

44: Thermactor not working (I took it Off :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />)

85: check fault/ fuel at lean limit ( Umm Ok I checked my bronco bible and online and they all say this code85=Canister purge solenoid circuit failure.. Not sure where to look for that one on the truck :)

94: CCC/ss4 ckt fault/thermacter sys not working LEFT SIDE ( well 90 bronoc's don't left side injuection from the Air pump and the pump only pushed air in at the Cats. Now my Bronco Bible says this code 94= Converter clutch solenoid circuit failure(E4OD)

95: fuel pump ckt open-ECA to ground ( this code in the book says Fuel pump secondary circuit failure<em dash> battery to PCM.. Ok any help on this one would be great!!!!

So those are they codes I'm not sure if they or I miss read those few codes.

The 3 solenoids by the coil are where the canister purge , EGR solenoid , And I believe its the thermactor air divertor solenoid . The bigger of the 3 with the green hose coming off it is for the EGR . If you remover your thermactor system there is a way to trick the computer into thinking that everything is ok fordfuelinjection.com has everything you need to eliminate the EGR and the entire thermactor system and still have the computer be happy for around $38 bucks shipped . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I am currently living in n.c. and if your vehicle is 1995 or older then you will not have to pass emmissions. The state of n.c. only tests 1996 or newer. Thought that i would just let you know so that you don't have to spend more money than you have to.

I did not know that, when i got mine inspected all they checked were all the lights and the horn. I guess it just depends on where you go. Good luck with the trani :)>-
