hey guys i have a 94 bronco and i have a few questions regarding my transmission which just started randomly acting wierd

when coasting like at 20mph holding the gas steady, the truck will somtimes randomly downshift into first or second and i have to let off the gas for it to go back into its normal gear (so its like it has a super sensitive kickdown and will shift whenever it wants)

- also when i put it into reverse, it lowers the rpms into like the 500rpm range and makes a loud clunking sound.

is my tranny on the way out? is there any way to fix this without a rebuild?

My 94 did that at one time, thought "oh ***** more money for a tranny now" Before I did the tranny I had blew out my rear end so I had to get a new one. When I got the new rear end (well junk yard new anyways) I opted to get a new speed sensor for it and it cleared up my problems... Maybe something you can look into...

yo, ok, if it gets nutZ again and TCIL Flashes, try self test; could be a few simple and rel. cheap fixes, such as:

Sensor, Water Intrusion of MLP-TR Sensor TSB 95-2-12 for 89-94

Source: by Ford via miesk5 (Al M) at comcast.net; esp. after runnin' thru heavy rain, creeks, rivers or hi tide @ da beach (don't ask 'bout this adventure...lol) or prev water sports resulting in iffy term connections, etc.

.............

btw, Check fluid level and condition...

GL!
