Have you checked the PCV valve and the tube from it to the intake? If they are plugged the engine will **** the fumes up through the breather line. Also, if you have a bad cylinder with a lot of blow by, it may be pressurizing the oil reservoir. The normal flow for air in that system is from your filter box to the driver side, (US), valve cover down through the oil drain hole to the sump area, up through the passenger side drain hole to the PCV valve and then to the intake manifold.

Good luck,

:)>-

Running too much oil, I have been told, will cause the intake breather filter to clog up with oil (which I have personally had problems with)....but don't know if it would fill up the whole filter box. I was running about a quart too much oil...maybe a tad more. OOPS!

mine did the same thing until I borrowed a trick from a dodge fanatic I know take a T fitting and put into the breather tube so if oil does come up the tube it will drop to the ground not get sucked into the filter or like my second version disconnect the tube from the air box and install a breather filter ( with a 1/2 inlet cost about $8 for a nice looking one) making sure that you turn the tube so it points up and not down or you will get spotty driveway syndrome if you go the second route make sure to cover the hole in the air box to keep unwanted stuff ( aka dirt bugs rodents etc.) out
