The other day i took off my mud tires and put the factory ones back on to go get a safety inspection done and on the way back i felt a "wobble" in the back. Got to the house, threw it on a jack and i can grab the top of the tire and pull it back and forth. This is a side to side movement, as in the top of the tire will come out and bottom will go in and so on. Im not to good with this type of issue.... meaning my mechanical skill isnt on that level yet. Its a 92 bronco 4x4 5.8. I have checked, and rechecked all the lugs and even pulled off the drum to see if i could see anything. Any help would be great.

could very well be the bearings but with how I understood the description its seemed to be more of a tilt off vertical and less of a up/ down kind of wobble. the worn bearings would only let the tire move up/ down/ forward and back while being mostly perpendicular to the axle right?

It could be as far back as the differential. Sounds to me like some serious wear in the axle components. Get it taken care of before you drive it much more.

Good luck,

:)>-

you were correct, it isnt an up/down front/back movement, its just a tilt from top to bottom.

could this be a damaged tire perhaps? Jack up the car and rotate the wheel and check for any bumps on the tire.

I've had this same problem with my car 2 times.

First the left rear tire and a week later the right rear tire. Both with a broken cord inside.

This wasnt with a Bronco but a mercedes but the problem seems to be the same and it occurred after you changed

your tires.

Maybe theire old tires that you only use once a year or so?
