I need drive shaft for my 1990 full size XLT. It has a 5.0L with an automatic transmission with overdrive. I looked online and found options like: EXC 3.08 AXLE RATIO, (E4OD) TRANSMISSION, and EXC 4.10 AXLE RATIO. My question is: How do I know?

With the E4OD dollars to donuts says it's a 3.55 rear, I think I still have the old drive shaft from my truck laying around, It used to have the E4OD, but I changed it for a stick so I don't need the old shaft. A new shaft will run ya about 2-300 bucks, I'll give ya mine for 50 plus shipping, wouldn't hurt to change out the universals before installing it, whats your zip code? I'll check the shipping price.

I don't know if it is the E4OD. That is the question I am asking.

Overdrive cancel button on the dash board? that would be the E4OD, other than that you might have the C6 wich is only a three speed, no overdrive or the AOD wich is a 4 speed but I'm not sure where the overdrive cancel button is located

I though the overdrive cancel button was on the dash on the A4OD. My 93 has an E4OD and the OD cancel button is on the end of the shift stalk.

the over drive cancel can be in either place depending on year my guess is that it would be the E4OD verify by looking at the link Roadkill posted and for the gear ratio check the axle tag on one of the top rear diff cover bolts
