doesnt want to stop running

when i shut down my beast its now continueing tko run for a couple of seconds. I checked the timing and its where it needs to be, could this be an issue with my carb? or what.

do u have an electric fan or after market electric fuel pump?? and what kind of igniton are u running..i had the same problem and i just wired in relays to my fuel pump and fan and it stopped

I have a 77 302, msd ignition, and a mechanical fuel pump

It could be the result of excess carbon buildup causing what is called "Dieseling". Check your plugs to see if the tips are black.

Do a compression test, mine was doing it when I had a broken vlave spring on the intake side.
