Ok,

I have been told that you should not use lockers on both front and back differential.

Is there any truth to this? I have also been told that you do not want to mix lockers like using

Detroit let say on the back and Eaton on the front, is there truth to this as well ?

I could see that one may want to use lockers on both front and back if you are going to be doing some rock crawling or serious 4x4ing.

Would locking both differentials lead to problems with the occasional off roader?

I know, I'm stupid... :-"

thanks all..

sorry, I guess that I should have put this in the General Ford Bronco Discussion.

Occasional youll want more of a limited slip, air locker, or electronic one. As soon as you take a turn with a fully locked diff youd know why.

slap whoever told you that. there is nothing wrong with running front and rear lockers. ALOT of rigs do it, from rock crawlers to boggers, so all around rigs. some are even DD's. some people (mainly DD's) like to run a limited slip in the rear so everyday driving (2wd) is unaffected, and run a lunchbox or detriot in the front. even having just a locker in the front makes a massive difference in traction. but for those who require more bite than a limited slip, detriot lockers are good if you dont want to spend as much coin as a selectable (ARB, detriot electrac, eaton E-locker) would run ya. if your tire size isnt too large, you can even throw a lunchbox locker in the rear, such as a loc-rite or powertrax locker. these simply replace the side and spider gears inside your stock carrier.
