Ok, I hit a 4x4 park last week and rode it pretty hard, lots of mud and rock hills. When I ran through a rather deep mud-hole my left door squat switch shorted out and my warning chime started going off continuously. I found the fuse and pulled it so that the binging would stop. That fuse also controls a few other things to include the speedometer. No big deal as I used the tack to keep my speed legal.
Here is the puzzler though. My transmission started acting up on the way home. It shifted very hard and had a hard time starting to move from a stop unless I put the auto in first and did it manually. (Auto tranny.) I figured I had stressed my torque converter or burned up some fluid. I fixed the squat switch and put the fuse back in and viola my transmission problems went away as well.
Is there some electronic input from the speedometer to the transmission shifting schedule?
Just curious..
