I cut down a Dana 60 from a 1 ton. I'm looking for a cheap way to get back to the 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern.

There is a D60 F&R out there with 5 on 5.5. Might check the wrecking yards but could be a tough find. Its probably easier to have them custom made for the rear. Then the front hub can be purchased with the 5 on 5.5 pattern. Did you say you cut the axle down (narrowed)? Did you take about 6" off the passengerside axle tube?

8 lug rims and new tires might be the way to go. Its probably more expensive but I tear/break lug bolt all the time so its nice to have 8 instead of 5.

I agree the 8 lug would be bette, but can get pricey by the time your done. if you can't find them used , currie enterprises can make anything you want, thats where i had a set made a few years ago. they were going to do d60 rears with 6 bolt for me for $277.00 a piece.

Thats a good price. I bet its gone up due to the metal price increases.

You aren't trying to fit 15" rim on a D60 are you? I think the brake calliper would be in the way.

believe ti or not they make a kit to convert your front brakes to fit the 15"rs, can't remember who makes it but i'm going to check around and find it again. came across it while looking for my d70 disc brakes!

Let us know for sure. Thats basically whats holding me up on changing to a D60. Having Currie chromoly shafts would be strong and get the big studs and drill out the 5 lug holes to fit.
