hi guys.

i am contemplating getting me some New headers for my bronco. but im wondering about how to run the pipes,

after what i know the stock setup, is a cross pipe from one side over to a collector and then a single line backwards.

I have 2 pretty good mufflers that im gonna use on it 2,5" pipes, and the needed tubing for the single configuration.

i was at the salvage yard last week and stumbled over some riced up car with a almost brand new 2,5" exhaust system. so i grabbed it and payed 10 bucks for it..

2X simons blowtrogh one with a crome end.

BUT one singe exhaust tip on one side dont look too good when you hear the roar of a v8.

so ive been contemplating running a dubble exhaust configuration.

anyone done that before? and if so any pictures?

i know the axle for the front wheel drive will be a issue for running a pipe on that side.

so im looking for advice on how to run it if i decide to run for a dubble pipe setup.

or whoud the easiest part be to split it up agean after clearing the axle?

Your talking about running true dual exhaust right? That is going to be a tight fit, but I'm sure with a pipe bender and some creative planning, it can be done. If your going to "Y" it together, common practice is one pipe into the muffler, 2 out. A friend had that setup on his 87 with a worked up 351 and it sounded really good. (For the record, I have a single 3" off my cat, through a flowmaster and angled out behind the pass rear tire with a 4" chrome tip. Get alot of compliments on not doing what everyone else does, and believe me, you KNOW there is a V-8 in there) ;) Not a shiny tip right now, but you can sorta see.....

go with the duals, i have duals and a x pipe on mine, youll get a great sound and just enough back-pressure to keep your low end grunt

I wanted to go with duals and the muffler guy convinced me the 3" is just as good from a performance standpoint. It's got that low rumble sound to it. My daughter told me it was too loud the other day and that made me feel kind of good.

The CAT is a high flow type, not sure on the type I'd have to check.

From the headers it dumps into a Y pipe, then 3" from there, to the CAT, ****, and out...

I'm not 100% sold on if the 3" is equivalent to the duals. When I had the tranny rebuilt a few years back the guy asked me what I had done to it cause it seemed kind of tricked out. He said most Broncos are kind of sluggish. Maybe it's the 3" exhaust? Or maybe he was just saying that to make me feel good? ;-)
