I've had my Bronco since forever, and have always wanted a softtop for it. I was saving for one from Jeff's Bronco Graveyard, and then I lost my job and had to put it on hold. Now that I'm working again, I was thinking of picking up the torch so to speak. I went to JBG, but they seem to have stopped carrying them. I did a little research on here, and found some people who had built their own. I thought that was a great idea, especially since I don't need to stick to the traditional colors or materials.

I know that a lot of guys like to paint their Broncos camo, but I thought, what if I got camo material and built a softtop from that? My Bronco is black with silver stripes, and I was thinking the digital urban camo for the top. (BTW I mean a fast back top, not the...wagon(?) top) I guess my questions are 1) has anyone tried this, and what should I expect? and 2) if you have done it, what did you use to waterproof the material? or did you just use an already treated material?

For any of you looking for a softtop, wants to try this, and is as crazy as I am, then I'll keep a log on the work, and I'll give you the plans and materials list if you want them. I also have ideas for a softop, on a roll cage, that would accomodate a roof rack and allows the change of the hard and softtop without removing the roll cage... but that's theoretical.
