How hard is it to take all the cruise control stuff, mine doesnt work any more and even when it did i never used it, im gonna one of those Grant Challender GT steertin wheels in my truck. Ive kinda looked at it but not to seriously becuase i have bought the steerin wheel yet. Can i just take all the stuff off and and plug everything up or is there more to it then that?

Actually it is quite easy, but why not just leave it there? It consists of a vacuum switch mounted on the brake pedal, an amplifier located under the dash just to the right of the gas pedal, a servo mounted on the driver side under the hood a cable to the throttle and a few misic vacuum lines. The speed sensor may be in line with the speedometer cable just under the brake booster or at the end of the speedometer cable where it connects to the transfer case tail.

Just out of curiosity, what happens when you try to engage it?

Good luck,

:)>-

i dosent do anything, i know exactly whats wrong with it, that ball chain that slips into the throttle linkage fell out, and dont have anything to rig it back on with, and since i was gonna put one of those 4 spoke Challenger steerin wheels on it the controls for it would go with the stock wheel , so while i was at it i was just gonna take the cruise control off. Unless you know of some way to move it to the dash.

OK, then remove the servo, the vacuum lines going to it, the amplifier which is that thing bolted under the dash by your right foot, ( it has a set of half moon connectors that is inserted in between the cable coming down the steering column). Unplug the two connectors on the amplifier and plug the remaining ends together. The amplifier also has a horn relay on it, if you don't have cruise control, you don't need the relay, the horn button on the new wheel will connect to the same place the old steering wheel did and the horn will work direct from the horn button. If you have the speed sensor that is located under the brake booster, you can either leave it there or get a new cable that is for a truck without the speed control, (I probably have one in my garage if you want it or just go to a good auto supply and order it). You can leave the switch on the brake pedal or just remove the vacuum line that is attached to it. Then the cables that go through the fire wall with the vacuum hose can also be removed to clean it up, get a blank rubber plug to fill the hole or cut the lines and hose on either side of the firewall. Just make sure you are cutting the lines that went to the cruise control.

Good luck,

:)>-
