crazy gauges

well my 89 302 bronco has a wierd issue witht the gas gaugeand the oil gauge....when your parked...and the truck is off the gauges somtimes shows how much gas i have and after i crank it it shows how much i have but after maybe a minute of running or after you drive it down the road the guages goes down past the E and stops working completley until the battery is disconnected or the truck sits for a little bit and the oil guage only works when you push the gas or are accelerating while driving any ideas i need the gas to work more than the oil rite now any ideas thanks guys :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

More than likely, there are two separate issues with those gauges. The fuel gauge may have a faulty sending unit inside the tank. The oil pressure may have a faulty sending unit on the block. iwould be way more concerned with oil pressure, and replace the sending unit to see if that solves your problem.Better yet would be to add a mechanical oil pressure gauge for a more accurate reading, since the "NORMAL" gauge doesn't show you the actual psi, JSM84

You may also check your grounds, the little ones on each side of the radiator support and the one inside the cab on the drives side just under the dash on the metal lip at about your knee height.
