I found oil in the air filter today. :(( I know what causes it but how long can it go like that? I'm going to replace the engine next year. Will it hold out till then?

That is usually caused by a restriction in the circulation path for the oil vapors. The path should be from the air filter thru the crank case out the PCV valve to the intake manafold.

Like Mbtech2003 said, PCV valve is a suspect. It could also be a clogged hose from the PCV to the intake. From there you have to look at the oil return holes under the valve cover to see if they are getting clogged with crap. They are also used in the circulation path.

Good luck,

:)>-

If the motor has alot of mles on it then it is probably blowby past the pistons . Mne did the same thing right before it puked its guts anytime it was ran at sustaned high rpm,s like running down the high way when you would stop or slow down it would actually stall because the air cleaner was soaked in oil and there was oil running out of the airbox . Knowing that I would never us that 302 again I pulled the aircleaner out of it so I could get a few extra mles out of it before pulling the motor about a month later it spit some rod bearings and gave it up . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Yeah it stalls and there is oil in the air cleaner. Hopefully I can get it to South Carolina.
