Boy's I need some help, I dont know if my cooling system is overpressure or not, the thing is that is blowing hoses, :(( last weekend it blow one of the hoses that go to the heater.

One thing I notice is if I want to squeeze the hose that is on top of the radiator ( i guest that is the return hose ) is rock solid, so thats wy I have the feeling that the system is overpressure.

let me give you some facs.

radiator cap: 13 psi Motorcraft

water pump: 3 month's old

radiator: new (made of steel not plastic)

return hose: new.

one other thing i do put some high RPM on my truck ( 4000 + ) why, because i do race a lot on the highway ( 100 mph + ) the thing is that here in mexico you can race in the highway all you want, :-& #036; as long as you doit safely, the reason i do this is because my work is 2 hours from home so, sometimes i need to speed up in order to get there in time.

What can I do to see if the cooling system is working right? how can I check if the radiator cap is in good condition?

I will realy appreciate you coments.

Thank's a lot.

The hoses that blew were probably old and weak and with the added pressusre from a new pump, they just finally blew. As sugggested above, replace all the hoses. You might want to consider adding a transmission oil cooler, I did it on mine and it made a big difference. If I lived in your climate, I would also add an engine oil cooler.

What year truck do you have? Post some pictures.

Good luck,

:)>-

One other thing....I hate to see a fellow Bronco owner die..! 0:)

I wouldn't drive many cars in Mexico 100+ MPH much less a Bronco.

It wouldn't be "SAFE" all alone on the Salt-flats let alone on a Mexican hwy. [-(

Please leave a bit earlier for work so we can still here from ya now & then...OK..? B)

Hi There, considering the fact that you are in a hot climate take out the thermostat, also check that the bottom hose(suction) is not collapsing if it is too soft use a reinforced hose.Even though your radiator cap is new get it checked it should after all blow off at 13 psi.If you have auto transmission put an oil cooler on that to bring temp down. Also I had a problem recently where the overflow hose had cracked and every time expansion happened I lost that fluid.

Good Luck

Thank's a lot Boy's I realy aprecciate your coments, the first thing I am goin to do is to change all the hoses to see if that takes care of the problem.

I will keep in mind the advise of not runing to much on the highway ( some times i do get scared )

I check the oil and doesent have water on it so maybe the problem is in the old hoses.

sorry if i didnt put the year of my truck here are the spects.
