I have a 85 351W. I have had overheating problems but anyway last night I let my truck run until on the temperature gauge it went past the normal range. When I shut it off, I was able to take the radiator cap off and then I was able to stick my finger in the coolant. It wasn't hot at all. I am trying to figure out why my temperature gauge is saying that it is about ready to overheat and it really isnt. Any help with this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Where is the sending unit located because i think I might have already replace it. Where do you think I might be able to get a temperature gauge?

Not sure...351 may have it on the front of the intake manifold...or on top.

I would start there, ....(Probably shouldn't use any sealant or Tef. tape)

easier & cheaper. Clean it or replace it.
