I just picked up my '69 this weekend and I'm starting on the "project planning" phase.

A couple of questions for those that have done one or more of the conversions below and might have some old notes, guidance, lessons learned, etc they are willing to share:

Has anyone done a disc brake conversion? Front? Rear? Both?

Has anyone done a power steering upgrade?

Has anyone changed out there column shift linkgage for floorboard linkage?

Has anyone converted over to EFI?

Can anyone provide guidance on pros/cons of 302 vs 351?

If you have experience in any of these conversions please share your knowledge. I'm currently evaluating what I have, what I want, and what I have to settle for (limited budget) so I can start work on the restore.

FYI... My starting point is a '69, 302, completely stock with rust. My Uncle who recently passed bought this new in '68. He ordered with dual batteries, dual gas tanks, installed his own grill guard/winch bumper with a PTO winch. The motor is reasonably fresh, the top is almost new, and most of the wiring is pretty new as well. He still has the original Helm shop manual he bought in '68 in mint condition and elaborate wiring diagrams of all the "stuff" he's added to it. He was an engineer and the detail is phenominal.

I'm going to clean it up, fix the little things, and drive it for a few months while I'm putting together my project plan. After that I'll take it apart and start the restore.

Thanks for the info. Great site.

I converted my 3 on the tree to a floor board 3...

I used the duffs kit and it is a great kit, i did some research on it before i got that kit and other say that some kits rub your leg and get in the way this one doesnt do that at all and it is incredibly easy to put in the hardest part is just loosening/tightening the bolts because there is very little room. My column shifter was very sloppy and this fixed it right up very short throws, I highly recomend this upgrade.
