Sounds like the clutch isn't dissengaging. Try bleading the clutch master and ***** cylinder.

The ***** cyl. may be bad and not responding with the proper, or any throw.

With the engine off and the bronc on an even surface, wheels blocked, have someone work the clutch pedal while you look for proper throw.

Cure the spongy pedal and I believe the shifting problem will be solved.

Good Luck

i never heard it called a concentric ***** cylinder. but im with ron sounds like the ***** is bad. the only way for it to get air in the system to cause the spoungy pedal would be for it to be leaking externally or the master cylinder to be bad. leaking from the ***** would indicate a bad cylinder ofcourse but i have seen them leak where the line from the master cylinder connecte to the ****** there is an o-ring on the end of the line that can leak.

ok well i will check that out, i was figuring that maybe my preasure plate was bad, i have been underneath it and watched the throw from the ***** cylinder and it seems right but its definetly not disengageing, i will try to bleed it some more but i cant find any leaks so i dont know how air would have got in the system.. hope my ***** cylinder isnt bad that will be a real B to replace since its a concentric system..

Is this the Bronc that has been sitting for a long time? You could be pushing the fluid back and forth past the ***** cylinder seals. Brake fluid is much thicker than air, it can get in without fluid getting out....or...The clutch may be stuck to the flywheel. Try this,Engine off, put the truck in 3rd gear. Have someone sit inside and deress the clutch, while you try to turn the motor with a breaker bar. If the motor won't turn , or it does and the truck wants to move forward, then the clutch is stuck. I have encountered where doing this has freed the clutch disk. I probably would come free if you could get some torque to that disc. What happens if you are on an incline, brake off in gear and clutch pedal pushed down?

WAIT.....you got brake problems too right?

Fix those first.

yes this is indeed the bronco that has been sitting for awhile, but i dont think the cluch is tuck to the flywheel because i just put the engine in 2 weeks ago and i had the flywheel turned and all that good jazz, i have crawled under and watched the ***** cyilinder through the sight hole and i can see it moving about a half inch maybe a little less, now i also noticed that when the peddal has been completely released the throw out bearing is still touching the fingers on the preassure plate, is this supposed to happen or is there suposed to be a slight gap? also if the fluid is so old do you think that it could be the issue?

The throwout bearing is not supposed to be riding on the clutch fingers constantly......and 1/2 " or less does not sound like enough throw. Some adjustments are in order, or the system still needs bled, or the master or ***** is bad or both.
