I recently added an adjustable clutch rod to my lifted 75 Bronco to correct the clutch pedal position. Now I am having trouble with my clutch either engaging or not engaging. I have adjusted several times and everything seems fine for a few shifts and then my problems return with the clutch.

Has anyone else had this problem adjusting the clutch pedal linkage? Is my problem in my clutch equalizer bar? I cannot see any flexing in the equalizer bar; however, I do see what appears to be a hairline crack on the weld that connects the equalizer bar and the arm that connects to the clutch push rod bullet.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

That system is pretty basic & simplistic. It's a bell crank of sorts & if bolted to the frame & eng., just does its thing.

There's a couple teflon bushings on the ends but it will still function W/O them.

Clutch pedal height & push rod adj. is about all you can do.

You could try putt'n the old rod back on & see what happens. :-B

OR--- could it be something internal meaning the disc or throw-out bearing...?

A tac-weld on that mini-crack may be in order soon but, that's not the cause.
