Ok so I have a few problems with my cluster guage my high beem indicator light stays on when I turn on the head lights even though the high beems are not on, also the left turn signel light stays on, it will flash when I activate the turn signal but when it turns off the light just stays lit. The last problem is the engine temp does not work. Any help with any of the issues or trouble shooting ideas would be great. I have a 1970 V8 302. Sorry I should of posted this in the tech section don't know how to move it but will get it right next time.

Activate the foot switch for hi beams a few times. If no workie., note the wire locations on the switch & remove them. If the light goes out., the switch is likely stuck internally. You may be able to remove it & spray ****/elect. contact cleaner up in there.

Check the flasher for turn sig. issue.

Or, the turn sig. guts under the steering wheel may be failing. (these should be cleaned ev. few yrs.)

As to eng. temp.., with key in the "on" position., touch the "sender" wire to ground. If the gage moves., the sender is dirty., making a bad connection., or bad.

If there's no movement of the needle., the gage is bad or there's a wiring issue.

My '74 came with this same issue. When I hit the brake, the right front turn signal comes on steady. The PO said that when he put the rewire kit in (OMG what a pain THAT must have been) that's what happened. But it does flash when I use the right turn signal. I'm kinda just living with it for now.
