I saw on another post there is a way to check both KOEO and KOER codes without using a scanner, but I am unable to find the procedure to do some. Could someone please post it or a link to where it can be found? My 1988 5.8L flashes the MIL at me when I'm driving with my foot barely on the gas, not dependant on speed. I've had a few episodes of the sitting at a stop light/idle goes nuts, but it is very very sporadic.. Thanks!

yo,

SELF TEST - & DTCs; COMPREHENSIVE; Includes Steps to Clear Continuous Memory & Keep Alive Memory (KAM)Codes; & a list of reasons why a technician may see the MIL lamp lit with no accompanying Continuous Memory Self-Test codes Source: by Steve83

As you can see, some tests (Dynamic Response Check, etc...Steve did del some of these from his narrative) within KOER mode require Ford's STAR Tester...

GL!
