check engine flashing?!?!?!

i got a problem i don't understand, when my '89 reaches normal operating temp. everytime i put my foot on the gas the check engine light flashes, when i take my foot off the gas it stops, can anyone help me

It means there is something wrong. Could be something really simple. Use a paperclip and get the codes which will give you a troubleshooting start point.

best way to know is to pull codes. go to fordfuelinjection.com and research how to pull codes. there is a very simple and easy to follow step-by-step process on there

Take it to advance auto parts or autozone and theyll pull the codes for you. Find out what it is so you arent shot gunning parts at it.

from past testimonies i've heard, autozone or advance might be be able to pull codes for you. since his is an 89, its not OBDII. most places only have an OBDII reader, and then they still dont know what the codes mean

advanced and autozone won't do it they say it's to old, i picked up a cheap code reader, it says coolant temp sensor, thx for the help everyone
