I own a 94 full size eddie bauer edition bronco, for months i've been hearing a small vibration at varying speeds (usually between 35 - 60 mph). It occurs randomly and sometimes not at all on a good day. I've inspected all u joints on drive shafts and axle and I just cannot pinpoint the problem. A friend of mine who is a mechanic but yet to inspect the problem suggested a Torque converter I believe he is wrong because I feel the vibrations would be way more severe and it would affect the rpm gauge. The rpms don't affect the vibration in anyway.  Tie rods seem fine along with stabilizer bar, the only thing I've noticed is that on the passenger side an upper ball joint looks worn on the knuckle but when I raise it up to check I don't get the play you'd feel if it was kaput.  Could this be a bad shock or coil tower. I'm willing to take any suggestions or ideas before I take it to the shop.  All vibrations are felt passenger side i've heard no clicking but a slight humming when turning steering wheel left to right.

Also the vibration can change when throttle is increased (stop or worsen), and stops when I stop accelerating

I'm having the same exact problem and it started when I got a new transmission put in, I'm thinking it has something to do with that.

It still could be a U-Joint.  Grease them and look for rust colored grease being forced out.  Also, grease the slip joint.  Sometimes it is not possible to get a gun on all the fittings in the double cardan joint.

Good luck,

:)>-
