can anyone tell me if and what the difference is between the 1966 in-line six and v-8 chassis frames are? :unsure:

They are the same, the difference is the motor stands(frame bracket)and there location. If your thinking about putting a V8 in place of the L6, you will have to cut off the stands and replace them with the ones from Bronco vendors.

thanks for the info. you don't happen to know the measurements on the placements or is it better to hang the engine then mark the spots?

Brendon,

Do a little bit more research on this one.

You will also need a V-8 transmission for this swap.

The six cyl tranny is a little bit weaker than the 8 cyls, it is also shorter from bell housing to tail housing. A V-8s valvecovers may rub the firewall if used with the 6 cyl tranny.

Check JBG catalog....it has all the parts listed to do the swap correctly.

(& the $$ figures)

Eng., bell housing, clutch, trannie, radiator, etc.
