Hi guys,

In my '87 Bronco I have a 351w thats carbed. At the moment I have access to an 88 351w thats FI.

Is it possible to convert mine to FI using the parts on the 88 ?.

Also I know I can convert to the serpintine belt but I have to reverse the water pump. how do I go about that.

Thanks

Kennel :)

P.S since its been a while since I've been on...........How are we liking those gas prices :((

Hi Kennel, you have a few options:

Take off the current waterpump, if not too corroded take off the impellor and reverse it, depending on age of WP this might be difficult.

Buy new waterpump and reverse the impellor.

Go with an electric waterpump and save some HP in the process.

Luck

If you do this use the parts from your donor motor including the timing cover they are not the same the main water ports are a d shape and with standard rotation the ports angle one way and with reverse rotation they angle the other way water pump will bolt right up to either though and you wont know till you go to fill it and the green shit runs out on the floor 2 gaskets and alot of iretation I found that out . with the serpentine belts you have to have a reverse water pump because of the way the belt is routed over the pulley it is routed so the pump turns counter clockwise where the V belt ran clockwise . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
