I'm trying to replace my current driver side coil spring tower which has rusted and split. I have removed the spring, dropped the axle, drilled out the 6 rivets, and ground them down. My problem is that the Coil tower isn't budging. What am I missing??

You may have the bracket for the antilock servo bolted through that tower and the frame.

Did you knock the rivets through? Sometimes just grinding the heads off isn't enough, especially with alot of rust.

Good Luck.

Let us all know.

Well the coil tower finally came off. There wasn't an additional bracket attach and I did not have to punch the rivets through. What got it off was a little muscle. The old tower had so much rust. I positioned a very long crowbar in between the tower and the frame and pried it loose. It came off seamlessly since the rivets heads were shaven.
