Hello,

I've been having problems with my Bronco's fuel system for some time. The fuel pump wouldn't shut off so I would disconect the battery wire when I parked her. Then some times when I reconnected the battery, the fuel pump wouldn't go on. So I would wack the tank with a stick and the pump would start hummin. Well the other day wacking wouldn't get the pump going so I wacked harder. The full tank started leaking and still no pump. all my gas leaked out at Wally world and I had to flat tow my Bronco home, first time she ever let me down.

Today I replaced the tank and the fuel pump. I found a bad pin on the positive side of the male/female connector [my bad connection]. I got all done and turned on the key and still no hummin. I need to know if there is a fuse and where is the fuel pump relay.

Thanks

Brian

There is a black box next to the air filter box, under it are the relays and the box has each named.

It is on the drivers side there is a rectangular box connected to the air filter. There 2-3 relays in there the one closest to the firewall is the fuelpump relay. Now your best bet is to go to the dealership and get a new pigtail and re wire the whole relay. What happens is the connections get a lot of corrosion and the wires break ( especially on a bumpy road at 2:30 in the morning ). It is a real common problem with broncos and f-150s . By the way AutoZone does not sell the pigtail its only like 5 or 10 dollars at the dealership.

Thanks for the replys.I found the relay clearly marked in the day light. The relay and conductors connecting it where good and corrosion free. But I couldn't get the fuel pump to start. I had power to it also. I ended up using a jumper wire to start the pump and once the pump had pressure then I reconnected the relay and I'm back in bussiness.

Thanks again.
