I have a 1970 with a broken drivers side shackle. What are the steps to remove the old one and replace the new one? I plan on replacing both with new ones I have. Thanks colobronco

is it the shackle or the shackle mount? The shackle is pretty simple, remove the bolt and replace. If it is the shackle mount, then you need to drop your gas tank so you don't get any undue explosions and take a cutting torch, plasma cutter, grinder, what ever you can get your hands on and cut the old mount off. Then weld the new one on. Make sure that when you put the shackle back into the mount to not tighten it too much and pinch the shackle. If you do this, then it will not properly flex and your suspension system will not work the way it was designed and you will lose ride quality.
