I rebuilt my 77 about 4 years ago and the brakes have never been that great on them. I've replaced the master cylinder and theres no air in the lines...new proportioning valve as well. Could it be the brake booster thats not doing it job or is there anything else? Thanks

Doubt it. The booster only makes a higher brake clamping force easier to the foot by using a diaphrapm.(i.e. leverage} Alot of the cheaper brake pads & shoes(lifetime kind) don't stop worth a shit compared to say Raybestos,Bendix etc.Any oversize tires/wheels multiply the braking force needed and cause braking to become less efficient.

Have you checked the rubber brake hose on the front, mine were expanding(swelling up like an air hose about to burst) when I applied the brakes, very scary. Also, what size tires you running?
