i was driving to class and i had to stop short cause i didnt see someone stop, i stopped about 2 or 3 inches away from their bumper. i went to continue driving and i noticed the brakes went to the floor and had no pressure. i pulled over and noticed a leak in the rear driver side. i made it to class and home using 3 bottles of fluid and the e-brake.

is it hard to fix the leak? and what do i have to do to fix it? do i have to replace the whole line or just a piece of it?

ill include a picture of where i think the leak is a little later.

Definately need a little more info or a photo. First thing to do is isolate exactly where the leak is coming from. Could be the wheel cylinder or the line. The best way to do that is to wipe the area clean as best you can and observe while someone else pushes the brake pedal. If the leak is as bad as you say, you will probably see fluid coming out somewhere. If it is leaking at the fitting you may just need to tighten that. (however, I doubt that is the problem) If a line or the wheel cylinder is blown, that component will have to be replaced.

Hey guys, im his brother and Im home for the weekend so I would like to help him out with this. He said its coming from the drivers side towards the back. When I took a quick look in the dark I noticed a spot of fluid in that area and also noted that it is before the rear wheel which leads me to believe it is the line. We will correctly check tomarow... but assuming it is a line, does ford sell replacements still? Or is our best bet bending up some ourself?

Here is one source for brake lines. If it actually is a metal line that needs to be replaced, it would probably be cheaper to remove your damaged line and take it to a local shop and have them bend you a new one. The rubber lines are readily available at most local parts stores.

By the way, welcome to BroncoZone guys! > If you add a signature with some info about your truck, it will make answering questions easier.
