Welcome to the Zone > . Post some pictures of your truck when you get a chance. Also include some statistics about yout truck in your signature. That way it is easier to assist you :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> .

Does everything work right untill you either step on the brake or put on the hazard lights? I assume fuse 5 is the one that is blowing and that the turn signals work OK but when you step on the break or turn on the hazard flashers fuse 5 blows.

If that is the case, check line 511 (the light green line) at the stop switch located on the brake pedal.

I had a similar problem with my 84. Step on the brake, blow a fuse. After a couple weeks of checking switches and wiring, I found a small burnt spot where the rear wire harness was rubbing on the laef springs and shorting out.

I would start looking in back, checking the bulbs and switches, then closely check the wiring under the rear bumper then up to the cab. It's alot easier to start here than fiddle under the dash or remove anything there.

i had a friend over last thursday with a #5 fuse problem- his traler pig tail was blowing it- something i haven't seen, but i guess that's how we learn- 2 wires on his pig tail were shorting- not sure if that was it or if moving the wires fixed it- we'll find out this week i guess
