brake light doesnt work

i need some help my right brake light does not work. but when the headlights are on the taillights still light up. does anyone have any ideas

The two most likely suspects are the connectors on the rear crossmember. The tail light and turn signals are on seperate wires. The connectors are visable if you look under the rear bumper. I would first check the one on the right side by disconnecting it cleaning and re-connecting I would suggesst using dialectric grease on the connections to prevent corrosion. If you have a meter, have someone hold the break peddle down and check for 12V. Second check the connector/s that the wires on the right side go to on the left side of the rear cross member. There will be two connectors if an after market towing kit was installed. the wire color for the right turn and brake light should be orange with a light blue stripe.
