Some previous (idiot  ) has cut these blower motor resistor wires and try to put there wrong resistor!!!

I bought correct resistor and now I need some help, could someone look under the bonnet and tell me, which color goes where?

There is four wires: red orange yellow and green, and in resistor there is two pins side by side and two of them are below them.

Hopefully someone understand what I mean B)

Car is -88 if that matters...

Here is the diagram from an 83 Bronco. It should be good for all years since Ford does not reinvent the wheel too often  The colors of the wires are shown ie. O/Bk = Orange with black stripe.

Good luck,

:)>-

Thank´s but I believe that sometimes between 1983- 1988 Ford actually reinvent wheel :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> because my car has 4 differend speed in blower.

Resistor is like this (photo found in internet...)!

That connector does not match the one in my 1990, so I can't give any specific help.

ALl that I can offer is that the resistor is on the ground side of the circuit. The more resistance, the slower the fan/blower will spin. In my '90 there is also a "thermal limiter" in the resistor. I don't know how to determine which lug goes to it.

This diagram may be helpful.

My current suggestion is to go to a junk yard and cut off the connector from one of the Broncos there leaving plenty of wire to splice to your wires. You should be able to match color for color.

Good luck,

yo,

Look at what VoltsAndBolts did in his 87

colors are =

dsc00555.jpg

Read his entire Conn. Repair & Modification in an 87

Source: by VoltsAndBolts (expendable) at http://www.supermotors.net/vehicles/registry/9954/58987

w/more wire color pics too

GL!
The problem I have with that solution is that it doesn't use a proper connector and ergo easy for those to come off since they are not latched in. However, it is better than, "a stick in the eye", but I would still recommend getting a proper connector ASAP.

Good luck,

:)>-
