belt tensioner problems

I have a 1989 full size 4.9. I recently bought a new belt tensioner and i was having trouble installing it, i need help guys. im not sure if its the way im doing it or maybe i got the belts routed the wrong way, but maybe a picture of an installed tensioner. thanks guys.

what exatacly happening is there to much slack or not enought slack on the belt or is the tensioner not allowing you to lossing up enough to get the belt on , there should be a digram on your fan shroud on the route your belt takes
