First off, a huge thanks to you guys in the forum, you helped me solve my idling/stalling problem! Replaced my IAC valve today and it's working beautifully :D/ . Secondly, sorry if this has been discussed before, but I couldn't find it using the search feature. My battery light comes on any time my car is under 2,000 RPM. As soon as the car goes above 2,000 RPM the battery light will go off, but turns back on once it dips back below the 2,000 RPM mark. My thought is it may be an alternator issue. Any thoughts on what this can be?? Look forward to hearing what you guys have to say!

Yep, Sounds like the alternator. Advance Auto parts and Autozone check them for free. If you have a voltmeter, check for a min 13.2 to a max of 14.7 volts at idle, at the battery. Anything lower means the alternator is not able to supply enough voltage. Higher means the regulator is bad.

yo,

See if they will do a load test on both alt & batty

Ck

Loose or worn belt - adjust or replace belt

Dirty or corroded connections - Clean or replace connections

Internal alternator/ regulator problems - Have alternator or regulator tested, overhauled or replaced

This is for a 96, but = to your year

Charging System Light in a 96; "...This light, shown as a battery symbol on your cluster, indicates that your battery is not being charged and that you need to have the electrical system checked. & from Workshop Manual - The charge indicator lights if the voltage in the integral alternator drops below a preset level while the ignition switch lock cylinder is in RUN. The charge indicator light comes on every time the ignition switch lock cylinder is turned to ON or START. The light should go off when the engine starts and the alternator begins to charge..."

Miesk5, appreciate all your detailed information in my various posts! I'll definitely check the other two things that you mentioned before I go buying a new alternator then. Let you guys know what the diagnosis is once the check up is done!
