All '80-96 Bronco & '80-97 F-series seats (bench, bucket, whatever) are interchangeable. The most you'd have to do is add wiring for the lumbar pump. The floorpans are identical where the front seats go

"...I have a set of leather buckets out of a Suburban and they seem a bit wider and fairly comfortable. Re-used the floor plate bracket and mounted the seats to a set of flat bars that then bolted to the floor bracket. That was for the powered driver seat, the other 3 new mounting holes in the seat rails and they bolted up to the floor mount bracket..."

"...Just wanted to mention that the seat bolt paterns on the floor are NOT the same between a 88-91 model and a 92-96. I dont know where during those years it changed, But I bought a replacement bucket from a 95, and it would not just bolt into the 88 that I own. The holes in the front are about 2 Inches narrower in the front on the newer bucket. I swapped the Older track onto the newer seat, and once again, it isnt a simple bolt it up and your good. The front bolts line up good, but you have to drill and tap the rear bolts..."

That is, until I realized that all I had to do was to remove the brackets from my original seats and bolt them on to the "new" '86 captain chairs. They fit perfectly! What about the rear seat? It bolted right in place of my original flip-fold seat with no modifications what-so-ever..."

Installation Info & pic (Explorer) in an 89; "Hardest part was drilling the holes and leveling the seats so there was no binding; Only one hole lined up for me, so I had to drill the other three. I did bend the front bracket a little to get it to contour a little better to the floor. Also, I would attach the front two bolts first, then drill the rear and shim level as needed. Other than that, it was pretty simple. I also put in a separate fuse block for the seats and my CB so I didn't have to run too much wire or tap into another source. Not sure what model mine were from, but tilting the seat forward and scooting it up all the way allows fairly easy access to the back from the passenger side. My driver's seat tilt lever is broke, so I haven't been able to test that side, but my old seats didn't tilt far enough either, so I never had anyone getting in on that side. Also, I removed my center console, so it's really easy to just climb over the front seat and crawl through the middle. At least with my electric Explorer seats, there was no easy way to unbolt just the floor brackets and keep the motors and such intact..."

Installation Info & pics (300Z) in a 95; "... I swapped my torn up leather seats today for some 300Z seats. ($200.00 on Craigslist). I swapped out the tracks and the seat bases allowed 3 out of 4 holes to be drilled and bolted, but on the back corner I had to make a bracket. Driver side was power and I had to remove 2 of the three motors to make it work (Back and forth and up and down.) It took a good hour to figure out the driver seat rewire, but ultimately I was able to plug it into the lumbar air power source from my old seat after splicing the connector and some of the remaining wiring. Had to cut away some of the metal underneath to allow the tracks to fit properly, but it worked out very well I think and is a very neat installation. Seats sit about an inch lower than the originals, but feel awesome..." must register to view pics

Installation Info (04 Expedition): "...put in seats outta an 04 expedition. They are very comfortable and the drives is power, but I had to make brackets for them. Worst of all, they don't fold forward so access to the rear seat is much harder..."

Installation Info (1999 F 150) buckets in an 88; "...I had to drill new holes in the stock bronco brackets to accomodate the studs from the f-150 seats. I also had to drill 2 new holes in the floor because the f-150 slider brackets are further apart about 1".. It worked out ok because there is a little reinforcement panel underneath the bronco body and you still hit it when re-drilling. For the passenger side, I added some angle iron to the bronco flip-seat bracket to get my extra width I needed, pretty simple actually..."

Installation Info (93-95 Lightning); "...I used the 93-95 Lightning seats in the bronco. I had to reuse the tracks from the bronco becuase the Lightnings seats were never meant to slide forward like the broncos because they were mounted to a steel frame that went accross the entire truck.. I simply bolted the bronco seats on at the front of the tracks from the bronco then re-drilled the rear locations to match the lightning seats holes..."

I just put the bronco frame rails on the mustang seats. Had to drill the back bolt hole on the mustang seats for them to work..."

Installation Info (Aerostar) in an 88: "...the top of the tall Aerostar seat limits the upward movement of the bracket for rear occupant access, as shown. There are four bolts on each seat that remove the brackets from the seats. Obviously it is much easier to remove the seat and bracket from the floor as one unit. Then after turning the seat and bracket over on the tailgate, you can then seperate the bracket and seat with four bolts one at each corner. You will have to adjust the bracket while on the seat to remove the last two bolts. Then reinstall in reverse order.... " pics are gone from his SM site

Rear Installation Info (APC racing buckets); "...They were tight but with the raised rear, it was easy to bolt them through the floor. Just had to reinforce the underside where the bolts came through. ( and be careful where you drill) With the width back there I'm sure any other 2 seats should fit. Again just be careful where you drill; but as I remember we drilled and had axcess to the underside pretty easy. No boxing. But where we drilled may be different from where you drill. Just be sure that there isn't any lines or wires, or the fuel tank under there. We used 3/16" steel stock about 3' square for our reinforcements, but some large thick washers should work too. think you could use the latch bar anchored in the floor to tie the belts to. The shoulder belts are anchored to the floor at the base of the wheel arches. You should be able to reuse them as they sit..." and by Seabronc: "The under side profile is the same as the inside of the cab. You can use a flat piece of steel stock so it has a goof grip on the floor pan. If you check out the way the front seats are reinforced, you will get the idea. Large washers are OK too, but get #8 and use #8 bolts. The only thing that may get in the way is the exhaust system and heat shield, but you can move them out of the way to make the mounting easier. The seats will have to be mounted on rails that will give you approximately the same height as the bench for head room considerations..."

Rebuild in an 86 Eddie Bauer; "....It gets rid of the toilet feel they get as they age (your @$$ touches the sides, but not the middle). for next to nuthin' and they feel great now. All it cost me was a box full of hog rings and a pair of hog ring pliers, some 1" foam and the special non-melting spray can of foam rubber adhesive. Cut the hog rings and remove the seat bottom covers. Cut the center piece for foam, then the side bolsters, spray them and the original seat foam, wait 4 minutes and stick em on. After that pull the covers back over and install the new hog rings.While you're in there, tighten all bolts, especially the floor and track to seat bolts. I did this not just cause' Iz cheap, but also because precious few other seats out there are as large or have armrests. Dirt cheap, damned easy and darned effective..."
