I have a 93 bronco and it is leaking antifreeze at a pretty good rate, i refilled it about a week ago and i have already filled it again twice. I can also smell it when I drive and sometimes my engine smokes right by the raditor. What could this be and how can I fix it?? Thanks

first off, find out where its leaking from. then dry it or drain the radiator, depending on where it leaks from, then plug it with JB weld if its on the radiator. another place to check is the weep hole on your water pump. if its leaking there, you need to replace the pump

I just had to put a new radiator in my 94 last weekend. Mine was leaking about 4 inches from the top of the radiator, right in the center. It took me forever to find where it was leaking from. The only way to see it was to remove the fan shroud so I could see behind there. I got my radiator from radiator.com and it was delivered in two days. It only took about 2 hours to install and I've never changed a radiator before. My old one actually came out in two pieces. When I tried to lift it out it broke right at the spot where it was leaking and all the way across.

On my '85 I special ordered an all-brass 3-core heavy duty job from a local 4x4 shop. My old radiator was leaking where the plastic side-tanks joined up with the core. It only took about an hour and half or 2 hrs to install it, and it was the first time I did that. I only mention the solid brass one because it was only like 50 bucks more than a stock replacement and I did not like the idea of plastic tanks.

JT,

if its dripping down onto the front axle, I would suspect the waterpump.

Take a look and see if there is a wet trail of a/freeze running down the lower rad hose. If there is, look at the bottom of the water pump, you should see a small hole in the cast iron. If the pump is wet there, or actually leaking from that hole, you need a new water pump.
