I noticed a broken wire from the altenator to the block below the exhaust manifold I guess. It hasn't caused me any problems yet but can anyone tell me what this wire is for???

THANKS

My guess is that it is the choke heater wire. Ford carbs used the stator connection of the alternator to supply the voltage (approximately 7 volts. After market carbs use 12 volts for the choke heater.

Good luck,

:)>-
