I have an '82 Bronco. I swaped out the complete front and rear end plus suspension (4 inch lift) from my old '86 F-150 short bed. I am sporting a Skyjacker 4 inch lift with rear springs, not blocks. This is a "superrunner system" complete with radius arms, drop pitman arm, and drop brackets. I am wanting to go with about 8 inches of lift. My genius idea is to add 4" blocks to the rear and 6" coils with 2" coil spacers to the front (if I cant get 8" springs). I have checked part numbers and all the brackets used in the 4" and 6" systems are the same, the only thing different are the springs. Now I should have no trouble with putting on 38 in Boggers. I am also considering a staight axle conversion.

Does anyone know if this is a good idea and or if it will work??????

SPECS:

Danna 44

9" rear-end

4:10 gears........I think(gears were in there when I bought the '86 shorty)

35x12.5x15 Super Swampers Radial TSL

Please leave any comments or suggestions. If you think you have something I really need to know or need to consider feel free to email me. [email protected]

thanks America

Dustin

Well, I posted an entire response to this the other day and it seems to have simply disappeared without a trace (Hey, GREAT update admin, LOVE it ).

Without going thru the whole thing again the short version is: 1) Hey why not just install an 8" lift since Superlift makes one of them too. 2) If you don't want to drop the coin on a proper 8" lift then why not go with Bushwacker cut-out flares and just run the 38's w/the current suspension ? 3) Install a body lift if you're really short on cash 4) Front spacers are a REALLY bad and fairly unsafe way to go, do it if you want but remove them right quick after the accident & don't ever let a personal-injury lawyer know you installed them.

My apologies to the Admin, I didn't realize when I answered this question for the 2ND time that it had been posted to multiple forums. Apparently the update is working just dandy, once again I apologize.

thanks for the help. There is no way in **** I am putting a body lift on my truck, I dont like them. Cut-outs are on my list, mainly cause I dont want to replace sheet metal to fix my fenderwell rust problem. I have desided to get 8inch front and rear springs from Skyjacker...no blocks or spacers. I was thinking of putting in a 460...my friend has a complete one for $500. I dont want to deal with finding a big block tranny and all the other ******** involved with a bigblock conversion. So I am either gonna stroke my 302 or build a good 351. Also I am looking into a straight axle conversion.

I have put up some pics of my rig in My Albums.

Thanks again

Dustin

You don't mention what you're running for an engine/tranny but chances are that you can swap a 460 in with no mods at all. The L&L products kit is all you'll need. The transmission bellhousing should bolt up to the 460 without needing any adapters. The bigblock is a bolt in, no fabrication involved. Ck out the L&L site http://www.landlproducts.com/list.aspx?Mod...=1&scID=100 pls note tht it's a COMPLETE kit, there's *nothing* else you need, there's NO fabrication and the whole gig is a bolt-in. Worth looking at.

The 9" is OK but you should look into a HPD60 front axle if you want to run 38" Boggers. If its a street runner, the D44 will be fine.

You will need to regear so you might as well put the money towards a D60. I picked up a D70 rear for free. They have 35 spline stock and are stromger than a D60.
