I just bought the Bronco of my dreams, but am having a hard time getting anyone to put a step on it. I hate to do it, but it has a little lift on it and I'm short girl. Started off at the usual channels..ORW, etc. All have said they aren't able to do it. Suggestions?

Welcome to the Zone >

How about posting some pictures of your truck.

You could put one on like mine. It attaches to the rocker panel and as long as they are in good condition, it works fine. Also, it can be removed with two bolts and two screws if you want to take it off for some serious off road. I'm sure that they make a modle that will fit your truck. The problem with most places that you go to now days to get a step is that they don't have any references to older vehicles and don't know if a particular step will fit. You definately shouldn't have any real problem monting a frame mount.

Good luck,

:)>-

If you want something that is off road "functional" and doesn't look too bad, get some chain, about 3-4 foot for each side, and weld the links together at the ends then bolt them to the floor boards. Then weld the center section for a sturdy "step hoop", but leave the section between the bolted part of the chain and the step loose and flexible. What this does is it lets you have a moving/floating step. If you go over rocks then it will move out of the way yet if you need a sturdy step, it is still there for you.

Imagine a squared off U. Then you can get the picture of what I am saying. Kind of hard to explain, but if you got questions of what I am talking about, let me know & I can draw a picture and post it so that you get a good idea.

Where the heck are you located where knowone knows how to put on a step? You might want some nurf bars with the step built into it or even an additional drop step. If you want something real strong, cut off the rockers and add rock ski's welded to the frame and body like I did...
