So i need to rebuild my breaks from the master cylinder back. I Don't want to replace the ABS crontrol unit that comes after the master cylinder. I was wondering what Proportioning Valve would fit that i could cut out that control unit? Would i have to change out the master cylinder as well? I found a Proportioning Valve for a 66 to 77 bronco for disk/drum.. would this work its item number 12564 on bronco graveyard. Its a 94 XLT with the 5.0 302.

I'm running this adjustable prop. valve from JEG's:

Don't know what effect it will have with the ABS system if you plan to keep it, as the instructions say not to use it with ABS sytems and/ or the stock prop block.

This oem prop valve is the type with a switch built in it to regulate pressure to the front and rear brakes, and most likely won't work with your ABS either. Only reason to run this instead of the adjustable one is if you want to keep the stock front lines that split from the oem prop valve. O nthe older-style brakes (pre-ABS), I've seen folks gut this oem valve and take out that switch, then run the adjustable one.

The ABS-style prop valve works in a similar fashion, but rely's on the sensors and a "brain" to pulse the brakes in a panic stop. Most problems with the ABS dash light coming on stem from a bad sensor, either at the front wheels or the VSS on the rear axle. The actual prop valves seldom give trouble, unless you have old/ dirty/ contaminated brake fluid.

Then I would take a look at upgrading to the F-350 booster- MC, an adj prop valve like the one from JEG's, and run new lines. You can iether make your own lines, or buy the pre-made ones and bend them to fit. I tried making my own ,but found it was too hard to get a good double-flare on the ends with the ***** tool kit also from JEG's. There are some good links to the brake upgrades in Miesk'5 homepage (see the tech articles forum), JSM84
